    Clinical Proficiency Desired

    Job Description

    Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) Schedule full time 32+ hours per week. The Dental Hygienist (RDH) is primarily responsible for performing high-quality and efficient hygiene procedures and building and maintaining positive and professional relationships with patients. Educating and counseling patients on dental health, plaque control, oral hygiene and nutrition. From the first exam to the final polish, taking patients under your wing and providing the Perfect Patient Experience, all while helping to maximize office production.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide spectacular patient care and service with a friendly chair side manner
    • Create an exceptional experience for patient
    • Practice the standard of care of the State Board of Dentistry
    • Stay on schedule as much as possible to create no patient wait time; help manage patient flow; maintain time flexibility for patient
    • Educate patient on oral hygiene/health/disease as well as procedures and services; establish/communicate continued care
    • Comply with state and federal laws for chart documentation; follow OSHA guidelines
    • Verify patient health history (review basic health status, medications; understand impact with dentistry) and document appropriately in patients chart
    • Thoroughly and efficiently perform clinical hygiene functions including but not limited to exposing/processing/evaluating diagnostic X-rays, reviewing medical histories and recording blood pressure, adult/child prophylaxis and non-surgical periodontal therapy

    JOB TITLE: Associate Dentist

    JOB DUTIES: Perform Disimpaction, Transalveolar extractions, Apicectomy, Dentoalveolar fractures, Periodontal flap surgeries, remove jaw cysts and impacted wisdom teeth. Perform all duties of a dentist, including performing a complete oral examination, diagnosing and treating dental problems, and providing preventative and restorative care. Specific duties include: Examine patients’ medical records. Prepare patients for treatment (e.g. by applying oral sedation or anesthesia). Check teeth, gums and other parts of the mouth, along with X-rays and tests, to diagnose dental problems. Clean teeth and remove plaque. Identify tooth decay and replace cavities with fillings. Design and fit dental prosthetics, such as bridges, crowns and dentures. Apply teeth-whitening treatments. Conduct tooth extractions and root canal procedures. Perform surgeries on diseased tissues and bones. Prescribe medication as needed. Educate patients on proper brushing techniques, flossing and fluoride use. Promote good oral health and preventive dental care (e.g. by scheduling regular check-ups). Meet with patients to discuss and treat dental concerns, performing regular cleanings and other preventative procedures, and establish a plan for better dental hygiene. Perform dental procedures, such as extractions, root canals, and filling cavities. Correct bite issues and overcrowding. Apply helpful agents to teeth, such as sealants or whiteners. Prescribe medications for dental problems, such as pain medications or antibiotics. Administer needed sedatives or anesthesia prior to administering treatments. Order diagnostic measures, such as x-rays, models, etc. Use tools, such as drills, probes, brushes, or mirrors, to examine and treat teeth and mouth. Keep records relating to the oral health of patients and the treatments given to them. Manage and communicate with other staff members to provide care to patients.

    JOB REQUIREMENT: DDS/DMD and South Carolina General Dentist License required. A minimum of six months’ dental experience is required. Experience should include any level of exposure to performing Disimpaction, Transalveolar extractions, Apicectomy, Dentoalveolar fractures, Periodontal flap surgeries, removing jaw cysts and impacted wisdom teeth.

    HOURS: 40 hours per week, M-F, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
